Does the U.S. Constitution allow the Red Flag law to be taken seriously?

With a history of mass shootings within the United States, law makers have finally presented the "Red Flag" law. It's a law that allows Police and Family members to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who may present a danger to others or themselves. The chart depicts 14 States who have passed the law, but that number is now up to 17 States and Washington, DC since August 2019. You can take a look at the diagram and notice the same trends that affect every gun proposal or "opposition". Southern States are and will always be the last to enact such laws that should help protect U.S. Citizens. Mike Baker of the NY Times wrote an article  in which he titled "He wrote 'Kill All Women,' but a Judge Returned His Guns. In the article, Mike lays out a couple of court scenarios. These court appearances show me that though some States are seeking solutions to the mas killings, our good OLD Constitution would like to have us live in the Wild West.

Violent social media messages should not be o.k. to post

Many of the court appearances that Mike talks about in his article, are based on people posting violent messages online. As the title of his story shows, one man named Charles Donnelly, 23, talked about killing all women and even described fantasies about hurting women. He was "Red Flagged" and got his guns taken away. It wasn't until he brought his lawyer to appear with him in court some time later, that he received his firearms back. The lawyer simply spoke about that infamous Constitutional Amendment called freedom of speech. They were jokes made for his friends...Donnelly received his guns back...

This is all wrong to me. Human beings shouldn't freely say they want to or feel like killing someone. Somehow the constant overlook of people on social media talking like this, makes me wonder about how kids are really being raised. Some American cultures would never say words like that. Those words have always had a fast acting consequence. When you take a look at the kinds of people talking like this on social media, you can relate them to the same people who have shot up Schools and Churches in our Country. People who you just couldn't tell were actually that violent. You hear stuff like that from the media and communities where these murderers have come from.

It makes no sense to me, that people who speak like this are excused for the reason of freedom of speech. Speech doesn't allow a normal citizen, who is non-violent say they want to kill someone. Those thoughts aren't even expressed openly as a joke....because it's simply not a joke. More than 20 mass shootings have happened, so really have to be a little off to blurt out about killing someone. People like that should get the same treatment as people who threaten the President of the United States.....Period.
