Barrett M107 50 Caliber

At one time it was the glory of the battle field for the U.S. Military. The U.S. Barrett M82A1 Semi Automatic Sniper Rifle was first put to use for Desert Storm operations. If you've played first person shooter games I'm sure your familiar with this gun. I want to paint a better picture for people who really don't know any thing about this gun. Take a good look at this picture of a military H1 hummer with a 50 caliber gun on top. if you've ever seen a movie with one of these in action, then you know what they are capable of. Imagine that in a rifle version that can be carried and operated by a single individual. This is what the United States Army received in the M82A1.

We all know that as time goes on, things get faster and lighter. The Barrett M107A1 was developed to be a lighter weapon that could still manage the recoil that comes with 50 caliber ammunition. Everything about it is made to be lighter, from it's chrome lined barrel, to it's light weight aluminum upper receiver. Many civilians would love to get their chance at owning one. This gun of course isn't cheap. Looking at prices on gunbroker.com makes me understand the price margin. If you want one of these, you better save all your pennies. The average NIB price of one is around $11,000.00. That's the price of eleven 1911 handguns (from any decent brand).

You would definitely be the talk of the range if you brought one of these to shoot. Ammunition is pretty expensive at $2.95 per round for american eagle 660 grain bullets. If you wanna get fancy you can go for the PMC Bronze 660 grain rounds. Those go for $3.50 a round.
