I figured it wouldn't take long for Ruger to jump on board. Every main gun manufacturer now produces a model 1911. I wanted to feature the 1911 made by Ruger because it's one of the most pound-for-pound affordable 1911's out there. It's also true to the original model, the classic M1911A1. You can pay well over $1,500 for a gun with similar features. The Ruger falls into the price range of a Colt 80 series. We're talking around $700 bucks for either one of them. As a company, I love everything that Ruger does. They put products in the hands of working class people. You can tell their motto is something like "give the people all the best options, and make it affordable".
Ruger went with a single action only option. It also comes standard with features like an extended beaver tail, grip safety and a manually operated thumb safety. The thumb safety is a must, as the 1911 model is well known for it's cocked and locked feature. In addition to these two safeties, the Ruger SR1911 also has a sear disconnect, and the hammer can go in half-cock position. Although Colt's 80 series developed a trigger operated firing pin block safety, and Kimber and Smith & Wesson use a courts firing pin safety, which is operated by the grip safety. The Ruger SR 1911 pistol features a titanium firing pin and heavy firing pin spring, which negates the need for a firing pin block. This brings an updated safety feature without compromising trigger pull weight. That was a pretty smart thing to do Ruger! The option also saves on costs and plays a role in why you can buy one for yourself at well under $1,000 dollars.
The stainless steel barrel and bushings are all produced from the same steel bar stock and on the same machine. Features such as an over sized ejection port and an extended magazine release enhance the performance of the weapon as well. Ruger always does an exceptional job with safety features on all their guns. The SR1911 has safety features on top of safety features, making the owner feeling protected while carrying. The lst safety feature is a visual inspection Port, which allows for visual confirmation that the chamber is loaded. You can find that same option on other Ruger weapons such as the SR and American line of pistols.

As always I've checked to see the going price online as some of my favorite shops. Hickok45 released a video reviewing this gun a couple years ago. Sorry I didn't mention that this gun has been out since 2015.
