Guns in Movies: Desperado Antionio Banderas Twin Ruger KP90's and a Wildey Magnum

Now when it comes to down run guns blazing assault mayhem movies Desperado is one. I think any action movie where the villan or crusader carries twin handguns is a must watch. You have Face off with Cage and Travolta and Underworld with the Vampires and Wolves. This tale brings all sorts of guns together, but my love for Rugers bring me to talk about the two other "main stars" of the movie.

Ruger has long ago established themselves as an american staple in the firearms world. I myself remember owning a Ruger P89 back in 2008. I was 21 years old and it was my first gun purchase. Some never know their first choice gun, but not me. I first found out about this gun through this movie! Yes I'm being totally serious about that. Antonio was always showing them off.Honestly, the name stuck and as soon as I became a full Virginia resident I wanted that gun. Ruger forum has a post about the worth of used rugers. The company produced many models, but are extremely popular and cherished guns to their owners.
The picture of Bandaras totally describes the action scenes at best. This is also the first time you get to see him use the guns during the film. He's seen earlier assembling the gun while lying in bed. You can say these two Rugers were brand placement at it's fullest. They were ways either being used or played with at some part of the movie. Even Salma gets to wield one during a getaway scene. So here's the juice on Ruger.

Sturm, Ruger & Co. has been around since 1949, and from their inception until 2004 they have produced over 20 million firearms. It was founded by two guys, William B. Ruger and Alexander McCormick Sturm. They built a .22 caliber pistol that was so successful they were able to build their entire company off it. If you know of the Ruger brand today it's mainly do to their dominance in the .22 caliber market. Now let's fast forward to the Ruger P line. We're talking about a full size handgun here. Here's a google picture search I made on the ruger kp90. Check out the different variations of this handgun. At length its 7.75 inches long with an unloaded weight at 2.13 pounds. Like I said"it's a full size gun", and that's what makes it such a good weapon. They hold both a 10 and 15 round magazine and packaged usually with 2 mags, but I've seen some only come with one. I'd have to say that the double action pull is a little long but smooth non the less. The single action is like butter. I owned the P89 model in 9mm and it shot so smooth. I actually typed that last sentence and automatically closed my eyes. The entire P series line are all full of nice shooting handguns. Below are the specs of the spec featured in Desperado the KP90 in 45 acp. As always check out the additional pictures from the movie.
