It feels great in the hand. Small and compact but enough power to assist in any basic self defense situation. Everyone has clearly expressed their love for this firearm and stated it has one of the best triggers on any gun today. The Ruger LC9 is a great choice for any male or female looking for a ccw firearm. It features a great sight picture for a weapon of it's size. I've also found it easy to store in the front or back pocket of some jeans. Ladies....it won't be concealable in the types of jeans you all wear, so your purse or clutch will have to do. I like the fact that it features a 1911 style safety, so you can carry it locked-and-loaded if need be. My hands are your average man's size, so getting to the safety isn't really an issue for me. You larger hand people may have to use your off hand to exercise the safety while taking aim.
The one thing I do not care for with all new Ruger semi-automatics are the "loaded when up" indicators on the receiver. Its just an awkward place to put something that peaks up in the director of the sight picture. Luckily it doesn't actually get in the way. Remember that in most concealed carry situations, your target is within close range. That means you'll have a big image to am at, and with the LC9 it won't take long to get on target. On another note it's just over 3 1/2 inches tall, and thats where pocket size comes into play. This feature alone makes this gun absolutely perfect for hiding on one's self.
The Ruger LC9 named the 2011 Handgun of the Year by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence. Ruger has received this award four years in a row, something that isn't that easy to achieve. Check out who has them in stock online at slickguns.com.
